These came with 1JZ over seas so unless it's int he US i'm inclined to think it's that.

How is it badge engineering? It looks like that generation Celica, but it's pretty different.

I was mostly kidding. Everywhere else it's a Celica XX, and it's pretty different, but not vastly so. I'll reply to you with a picture from a Japanese toyota catalog in the Celica Supra book I have where the XX is compared with the other variants. I'd think of it as a FWD B5 A4 V6 vs Passat kind of badge engineering.
